Camping World RV 400 at Kansas Speedway Preview
Posted by chadmusselman on September 24th, 2008
I’m back from vacation and ready to pick a winner and other drivers that will finish in the top 10 this week in Kansas. This is one of the cookie cutter 1.5 mile ovals that have been popping up everywhere. (Does anyone have an imagination or creativity to design an original or different track?)
My team this week:
Chaser: Greg Biffle
The Biff is red hot, and he’s pretty awesome at Kansas with one win and three top 5s in his career. His 11th place finish is pretty good also.
Alternate Chaser: Carl Edwards
Carl is leading the point chase, and he thrives at these 1.5 mile ovals. He has two top 10s at Kansas, but last year he did finish 37th. If he can avoid wrecks caused by others he should be up front going for the win.
Mark Martin
In the 7 races at Kansas Mark has 3 top 10s with one win and a 12.4 average finish. The veteran can still get it done on the track and should be in the top 10 all race long.
Martin Truex Jr.
Martin has only raced at Kansas twice, and last year finished 38th, but in his first race he finished 11th. If he can avoid trouble he should contend for a top 10.
Darkhorse: Casey Mears
I can’t believe I’m picking Casey for my darkhorse, but I have to go with him. In his last three here he’s finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. He’s been great here the past few years and even though he has nothing to race for this weekend, I think he’ll show some pride and have a good run.
