Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Recap
Posted by chadmusselman on August 3, 2008
The weather played a big part in this race splitting drivers into those that pitted while under caution because of the rain, and those that stayed out. That added some excitement to the race, not being sure who would run out of gas, and who could make it to the end. Carl Edwards was able to make it to the end, and get his 4th win of the season.
So, how did my drivers do?
Chaser: Denny Hamlin
Denny was running up front for a lot of the race, but got caught pitting out of sequence and ended up finishing 23rd.
Alternate Chaser: Jimmie Johnson
Jimmie was strong all day and came home with a 3rd place finish.
Mark Martin
Solid 8th place finish for Mark. He keeps plugging along.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Dale had a solid run this weekend, but ran out of gas on the front strech before taking the checkered flag and ended up finishing 12th.
Darkhorse: Brian Vickers
Brian was doing good all day, but got caught at the end with the fuel situation and ended up finishing 28th. He ran well, as I expected, but sometimes the results just aren’t there.
